The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund announced its ten 2007 finalists earlier today. And the nominees are (drumroll, please)...

Rogan Gregory of Rogan
Gabriel Asfour, Angela Donhauser and Adi Gil of Threeasfour
Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai of Vena Cava
Victoria Bartlett of VPL
Menswear designer Michael Bastian
Philip Crangi of Philip Crangi Jewelry
The winner will be announced on November 15th and take home a $200,000 cash prize. The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund was founded in 2003; past winners are Proenza Schouler, Trovata and Doo.Ri.
A lot of the Philip Crangi pieces, especially the beaded pieces are a direct rip-off of Ted Muehling. I am an avid lover of jewelry and find it hard to believe that someone who obviously uses other peoples designs can be up for such a great award.
