She’s been an It girl in the
UK for quite some time, thanks to her ineffably cool personal style and
model/DJ/TV host jobs.
Now Alexa Chung has become a fashion force to be reckoned with here in the States, since relocating to New York last April to host MTV’s It’s On with Alexa Chung (think of it as a revamped TRL).
During New York Fashion Week, we spotted her at several shows (Phillip Lim, Marchesa and Preen, among others) and Chung also graced the front row of the Topshop, Vivienne Westwood, PPQ, House of Holland, Twenty8Twelve, Luella and Burberry shows during London Fashion Week’s 25th anniversary celebration a week later.
The Fashion Informer nabbed a minute with the leggy beauty at Milk Studios to talk about music, job perks and breaking the rules.
So, Alexa…
The-Exies are on there and
The Shirelles and Roky Erickson.
The rules in America are
very oppressive. There are so many
rules that people love to stick by.
Like ID’ing you all the time, not letting you bringing a coffee into
this venue (laughs). People are just sticklers for rules and they don’t let you
sneak a sneaky one. Like smoking
cigarettes… It seems quite
regimented.
At the moment, England, I
guess. I don’t really have one
since I never get to get away because I’m always working.
I get free clothes!
When I’m anywhere my
boyfriend [Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner] is.
Where did Alexa grow up? x
