Giving the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund a run for its money (literally) in the new designers' category, the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation announced the winners of its 2010 award earlier today. This marks the ninth year of the EDFF, which has donated over $1 million in support of emerging designers to date.
Designers Joseph Altuzarra, Prabal Gurung, The Blonds and Salvor Projects were named in the women's wear category, while Siki Im, Prova and Organic took home the prize in the men's wear, accessories and sustainable design categories, respectively. Past EDFF winners include Rodarte, Vena Cava, Zac Posen, Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler and Derek Lam.
Each winner receives a $25,000 grant to help offset the cost of showing their individual collection during New York Fashion Week and, for the first time ever, the seven EDFF winners will also participate in a group runway show to take place in the Bryant Park tents on February 15th.
See you there!
