Anndra Neen designing sibs Annette and Phoebe Stephens recently unveiled their spring collection, which was greatly influenced by their heritage. "It's inspired by the art of our grandmother and our father that we grew up surrounded by," Annette told The Fashion Informer's Lauren David Peden. "We designed bird cages that contain one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. We encourage people to take the piece out of the cage and set it free. That is how both our grandmother and our father lived and it is reflected in their work—they were free birds."
The duo's other muses: Mondrian paintings, Le Corbusier architecture, antique textiles, the Seventies, Raoul Dufy fabrics, blown glass, antique tiles from Pueblo and jazz baroness Pannonica de Koenigswarter (whew).
