Designers: Maayan Zilberman and Nikki Dekker
Location: Milk Studios
Crowd: Michelle Harper, Jen Brill, Ikram Goldman, Hamish Bowles and Anndra Neen duo Phoebe and Annette Stephens (who designed custom jewelry and hardware for TL&S spring collection).
Inspiration: The women of Mexico City, now and then ("then" being the 1950s).
First Impressions: Those are some empowered women, judging from these tough luxe underpinnings, which included swimwear and loungewear (new this season) that allow the wearer to showcase her femininity while still leaving a little something to the imagination. In other words: these are classy scanties, many of which could easily be worn as outerwear. And, as they did last season, Zilberman and Dekker presented their designs on women of various shapes and sizes, which is a truly empowering thing to do during the anorexifest that is NYFW.
Standout Piece(s): The Miracle Box 'Anndra Neen' bralette and brief in gold/coral, which nodded to the Fifties without feeling dated, the Hotbed pewter and lace bustier with strategically-placed black straps, and a sweet square neck romper that read both innocent and not.
