What inspired you for fall 2012?
I was inspired by the art of manipulation.
How does this play out in terms of colors, materials and shapes?
I manipulated animal prints so we can see them in a different perspective and took fabrics and washed them and treated them to become something new.
What music did you listen to while designing this collection?
I expressed my concept and idea for the collection to my DJ Natalia and she came back to me with some amazing mixes of music that I listened to while I sketched and really helped to create the mood I was feeling.
What do you look for when casting your show/presentation?
It changes according to the mood, but I wanted women that were strong yet a bit vulnerable at the same time. A bit elusive but never cold.
How do you stay energized/balanced in the weeks leading up to NYFW?
I surround myself with positive and healthy energy—my awesome staff and, of course, my dog Ace.
What other show(s) are you looking forward to seeing this season?
I would love to see my friend’s show for Bespoken, but I don’t know how I will have time.
How do you plan to unwind after Fashion Week?
I will be going to LA for Oscar parties and events, then to Paris fashion week and then it looks like Coachella… Unwind??
