Designer Oscar de la Renta took offense at what he deemed the overly personal nature of New York Times' critic Cathy Horyn's review of his spring 2013 collection, in which she described him as "far more a hot dog than an éminence grise of American fashion" (ouch)—so much so that he took out the following full page ad in today's WWD in response. What do you think? Is his response justified, or should he have just let sleeping hot dogs lie?
Feedback can sometimes hurt a feeling, one thing I have learned with this blog is to think first the words that you're going to say or comment because it might hurt a person like what had happened to Oscar.
